Tuesday evening: Meshuggah at Red Rocks, two Halloween parties, and still no ski opening

Meshuggah is new at Red Rocks on April 21, 2027. The SpooKiki Ball and NOCTURNAL are on the Halloween weekend calendar. Arapahoe Basin's homepage this evening still has no opening day and a 0-inch base.

Tuesday evening, Oct. 27. Nothing dated before today was still in the events folder. Tonight's shows stay up: Tucker Wetmore at Red Rocks, the Smashing Pumpkins at Ball Arena, and the Colorado Eagles against the Charlotte Checkers.

Red Rocks. Meshuggah is the new page. The official event page lists Wednesday, April 21, 2027, doors at 6:00 p.m., show at 7:00 p.m., with Testament and Blood Incantation. Live Nation lists the same night and the same three acts. 9NEWS, published at 9:22 a.m. MDT today, says a presale began at 10 a.m. today and public tickets go on sale Friday, Oct. 30, at 10 a.m. The other 2027 shows in that 9NEWS roundup were already on this calendar. 9NEWS lists Sienna Spiro on Aug. 20. The Red Rocks page already filed here is Monday, Aug. 30, 2027, so that date was not changed.

Halloween weekend. The SpooKiki Ball is new. The Denver Art Museum lists it Friday, Oct. 30, 5–10 p.m., at 100 W. 14th Ave. Pkwy. The page says entry is included with general admission and that general admission is free for members. It does not say everyone gets in free, so the listing is not marked free.

NOCTURNAL is new. Eventbrite and the Downtown Denver Partnership both list it Saturday, Oct. 31, at Bierstadt Lagerhaus, 2875 Blake St. Doors are 8:30 p.m. The party is 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Both pages say 21+ and general admission $30. Eventbrite also lists a live band, DJs, and a $2,500 costume prize.

Free today, and one free day tomorrow that is not a full listing. The National Park Service fee page lists Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, Theodore Roosevelt's birthday, as a fee-free entrance day at National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee. The same list says the 2026 fee-free days are for U.S. citizens and residents, and that other fees can still apply. It is one day, statewide, with no single address, so it is in this note and not a family page.

SCFD's calendar lists a Museum of Outdoor Arts free day on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Greenwood Village, and says last admission is 4 p.m. That calendar line does not print a street address, so it is not a family listing.

Ski. Arapahoe Basin's homepage this evening still says "We will open for winter ASAP!" and "No official opening day at this time." The same page lists 0 inches in the past 24 hours, 0 inches in the past 48 hours, and a 0-inch base, with 0 of 147 runs open and 0 of 9 lifts open. It lists today's high at 40°F and the low at 27°F. That is not an opening, so A-Basin stays off the calendar.

Loveland's snow report is labeled 6:00 a.m. on Oct. 27, 2026. It lists 0 inches in 24 hours, 1 inch in 48 hours, 1 inch in 72 hours, and 5 inches total. Current conditions on that page are sunny and 38°. The lift line is a dash out of 10, not a count, so this note does not say how many lifts are turning. A banner on the site says snowmaking is underway. The report does not name an opening day.

A request to the Keystone homepage this evening returned a system-error page and no opening date. Nothing in that response puts Keystone on the calendar. The longer note is linked above.

Eat and sleep. No new restaurant, bar, or hotel opening or closing was verified tonight. Westword's Oct. 27 vegan story names Mother Other, Soda Club, and Vegan Van. Those were already on Eat. The Latino Cultural Arts Center's own site still calls Las Bodegas forthcoming and still offers tours while construction nears completion, so it is not listed as open.
