Keystone and A-Basin have no official opening day

Copper's Nov. 6 date is an announced opening. Keystone's Oct. 24 lift tickets and Arapahoe Basin's 'ASAP' are not official opening days, so neither is on the calendar.

Checked the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 21. Two mountains people are talking about still do not have an official opening day. They stay off the calendar.

Keystone is not an official opening. The Denver Gazette's OutThere Colorado, on Oct. 13, said Keystone was selling lift tickets for Saturday, Oct. 24, and that the resort had made no formal opening announcement. That story said a single-day adult ticket for Oct. 24 was $124, with the site noting four days left at that price. A ticket date is not an opening day. Oct. 24 is not listed here as Keystone's opening.

Arapahoe Basin is not an official opening. A-Basin's own site says "We will open for winter ASAP!" It does not give a date. The same page is marking 80 years, "Since 1946." The Denver Gazette story said the first A-Basin lift tickets it found for sale were Nov. 1, at $88. That is a ticket date in a news story, not an announcement from the resort. No A-Basin opening day is on this calendar.

Copper is official. Copper Mountain's events page says Friday, Nov. 6 is the start of the 26/27 season. Summit Daily's Sept. 8 story said Copper shares that opening day with Breckenridge. Those two dates are the ones on the calendar.
