Evening: Arapahoe Basin is open

Arapahoe Basin opened at 11 a.m. with one lift and an 18-inch base. Keystone still has no announced day. Spirits + Songs is at the Ellie at 6 p.m. Santos and Butterdrop are planned, not open.

Wednesday evening, Oct. 28. The morning note's ski paragraph was wrong by afternoon. Arapahoe Basin is open.

Ski. The resort's opening post says lifts started at 11 a.m. for the 80th season. Black Mountain Express runs 11 a.m.–4 p.m. and serves High Noon, a mountain-blue run. A same-day note names Black Mountain Express and High Noon. The snow report this evening lists an 18-inch base, no snow in the past 24 or 48 hours, 1 of 9 lifts, 1 of 147 runs, and 1 of 10 areas. High 39°F, low 26°F. OnTheSnow's open-resorts page lists only Arapahoe Basin, with that same base and the same lift and run counts. The homepage says no parking reservations are needed at this time. KRDO reports the resort said it will be open seven days a week for as long as it can. This page does not print a ticket price.

Summit Daily says that as of noon, Keystone had not announced an opening, and that Loveland and Winter Park still plan to open as soon as possible. Keystone's homepage still does not announce a day. Those three stay off the calendar. Breckenridge and Copper stay Nov. 6. Vail stays Nov. 13, still labeled projected. Steamboat stays Nov. 21. Powderhorn and Purgatory stay Nov. 20. Beaver Creek and Crested Butte stay Nov. 25. Aspen Mountain and Snowmass stay Nov. 26. Telluride stays a target for Nov. 26. Granby Ranch stays Nov. 25.

The opening post says The Block Hotel & Commons, 13 miles away in Silverthorne, is offering $34 room rates. The hotel's site lists 491 Rainbow Drive and does not print $34. It is On Our List, not a review.

Tonight. Spirits + Songs is at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at 6 p.m. Opera Colorado calls it family-friendly and lists pay-what-you-wish tickets, suggested $20. Ghosts in the Gardens, the Avalanche against the Devils, Koe Wetzel at Red Rocks, and the Eagles against the Checkers were already on the calendar.

Weekend. The Red Rocks events calendar still shows Cypress Hill with Method Man and Redman on Thursday at 6 p.m., deadmau5 Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Yandel on Sunday at 8 p.m. The Grizzly Rose calendar still shows Aaron Watson on Friday and the Halloween Ball on Saturday. No new date was added to either calendar in this check. The Denver Gazette's Oct. 28 roundup republishes Boo at the Zoo, Halloween After Dark, Crawl-O-Ween, Creature-fest, and the other weekend nights already filed. It also lists smaller parties that are not separate pages here, including a zombie bar crawl in Olde Town Arvada tonight and Spooktacular Showcase at Comedy Works South tonight and Saturday. Those lines stay on the Gazette page until an organizer page is the source for a calendar file.

Eat. No reviews. Santos Café & Grill is On Our List for a November opening at 410 E. 7th Ave. BusinessDen reported that on Oct. 8, and Dining Out repeated it today. The restaurant's site still lists only 1141 Syracuse St. Butterdrop Bakeshop is On Our List as coming soon. Its homepage says Opening Fall 2026 in Cherry Creek and does not name a day. The about page says Opening Online Spring 2026. Dining Out puts the shop at 250 Detroit St. and says online ordering is open. BusinessDen on Oct. 5 said "come next year." The day is not set.

Dining Out also says Casa Juani is open seven days a week from 5 p.m. as of today, that BOXBOX has closed its East Colfax spot and leased 3003 E. 3rd Ave. for an early 2027 opening, that Maggiano's at the Denver Pavilion has a closed-until-further-notice sign, and that Sushi by SYC will close Oct. 31. None of those four was a page on Eat or Nightlife, so nothing came off those lists. Cenizas is still the next-month opening already filed this morning.
