Saturday evening: KETTAMA, two kitchens, and still no ski opening

Checked Saturday evening, Oct. 24.

Tonight. KETTAMA, with Loods, is at Mission Ballroom, 4242 Wynkoop St., at 8:00 p.m. AXS lists doors at 8:00 p.m. and ages 16 and over. It was not on this calendar. The Red Rocks page for Jade Cicada & Mickman lists a 6:00 p.m. start and 5:00 p.m. doors, with Resonant Language, Schmoop, and Petals. This calendar had been carrying 5:30 p.m. It now matches that page. The rest of the Red Rocks upcoming list was already here, including the 2027 dates through Fontaines D.C. The Grizzly Rose calendar's upcoming shows were already here too. Nothing on either calendar was a new date to add.

Nuggets. The home opener against the Pelicans is still 7:00 p.m. at Ball Arena. The club's preview from 10:17 a.m. MDT lists Spencer Jones questionable (bilateral hamstring) and Julian Strawther out (left knee sprain). The same story says Cam Johnson is out with an ankle sprain. It also calls Jones sidelined, which is stronger than the questionable line in the report.

Eat. Westword's Oct. 24 openings-and-closings story is the new one. The Pretzelry at 728 N. Lipan St. goes On Our List. The shop's own site prints a grand opening of Oct. 24 and also says that party is still "stay tuned." Westword calls this week a soft opening. Den Thai Street goes On Our List at 820 Sherman St. The restaurant's site calls it Cap Hill, and OpenTable adds Suite A plus hours. We have not eaten at either.

Risica and the Union Station Maria Empanada were already On Our List. Westword's list also names Bad Ass Coffee, Banh Mi House, Candy Cloud, a Castle Rock Dunkin', Love Sushi, and a Western Sky Bar & Taproom reopen. Those did not get new pages tonight.

Closed. The same Westword story says The L, 46 Broadway, closed, with a last night on Thursday, Oct. 22. It also lists The Greenwich, Park & Co., Fire Bowl Cafe, and both Bluegrass Coffee & Bourbon Lounge rooms. None of those was a listing on Eat or Nightlife, so nothing came off those pages.

Ski. Arapahoe Basin's homepage still says "We will open for winter ASAP!" and still does not give a date. Keystone's homepage and Winter Park's homepage do not post an opening day either. No opening was added.

Still on tonight's calendar. Nothing dated before today was left to remove. Friday's shows came off this morning. Tonight's games, Jade Cicada, Shpongle's second Fillmore night, and the events that run through this evening stay up until the date passes.
