Friday additions: three outings, four kitchens, and five goodbyes

Coffin races in Manitou, glowing pumpkins in Fort Collins, and a Jeffco book sale. Four restaurants go On Our List. Five named closings were not listings here. Keystone and A-Basin still have no opening day. Sunday's Broncos game is in Arizona.

Checked the morning of Friday, Oct. 23.

Three outings. Denver7's weekend list is the source for all three.

  1. Emma Crawford Coffin Races & Parade, Saturday in Manitou Springs. Teams race decorated coffins down Manitou Avenue, with a parade and costumes. The event site says the day is free.
  2. Pumpkins on Parade at The Gardens on Spring Creek in Fort Collins, Oct. 22–25. Glowing carved pumpkins, timed entry, tickets $8–$15 on the Denver7 note, age 4 and under free. The gardens call it family-friendly.
  3. Whale of a Used Book Sale at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Oct. 22–25. Admission $5, most items 50 cents to $5.50. It supports Jefferson County literacy programs.

On Our List, not reviews. We have not eaten at any of these.

  • Mulan Dim Sum & Dumplings, 650 S. Colorado Blvd., Glendale. Handmade dumplings and noodles.
  • Twansburger, smashburgers from the La Diabla team, in a permanent home inside Onefold in Uptown.
  • Maria Empanada, a new outpost in the Great Hall at Denver Union Station. Argentinian sweet and savory empanadas.
  • Ranalli's walk-up window at Federales in RiNo, starting Oct. 29. Chicago tavern-style slices. Free slice on Halloween, 4–6 p.m., while supplies last.

Closings. Westword's Oct. 17 list says Tupelo Honey at 1650 Wewatta St., Syrup at 410 E. Seventh Ave., and Parlor Doughnuts at 95 Lincoln St. are closed. The same story says Parlor's owner pointed people to the Aurora shop at 5001 S. Parker Rd. and to the Pearl Street Farmers' Market, and that a relocation was not imminent. Axios says Denver is saying goodbye to The Greenwich and to Park & Co in Uptown. None of the five was a listing on Eat or Nightlife, so nothing came off those pages.

Ski. As of Oct. 22–23, neither Keystone nor Arapahoe Basin has an official opening date. Keystone has been selling Oct. 24 lift tickets and says "as soon as possible," and those tickets are exchangeable. That is not an opening day. Loveland targets late October to early November. Breckenridge and Copper stay Nov. 6. Vail stays Nov. 13. The longer note is linked above.

Sports. The Broncos are away at the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2:05 p.m. MT. That game is not on this calendar. The next home game is already listed: Sunday, Nov. 1, against the Chiefs at Empower Field. The Nuggets' home game against the Warriors on Monday, Oct. 26, at Ball Arena was already on the calendar.

Off the list. Macklemore at Red Rocks and Skillet at the Fillmore were Thursday, Oct. 22. Those dates have passed, so those two files are gone.
